5 highlights Arsenal 4-2 Leicester: Super Positioning Cannon

The London Gunners had a jubilant victory in the first match playing at home this season.

1. Learn technology successfully

In this match, coach Mikel Arteta continued to leave Kieran Tierney as a substitute, arranging rookie Oleksandr Zinchenko to start in the left corridor. Not ashamed to be a ‘student’ of Pep Guardiola, Arteta has asked his full-back duo to move up and down the middle, playing as central midfielders, just like what Joan Cancelo and Kyle Walker do. This deployment helps the Gunners dominate in terms of numbers in the midfield.

Zinchenko continued to have an impressive performance.

2. Gabriel Jesus’ Day

It can be said that the Brazilian striker “occupied the spotlight”, turning Emirates Stadium into his own stage last night. The former Man City striker opened the scoring for the Gunners with a delicate tackle and finish, then he successfully capitalized on the opponent’s mistake to complete the double.

In the second half, Leicester rose strongly. But Jesus extinguished the effort of the “Foxes” with 2 assists for Granit Xhaka and Gabriel Martinelli to score. If more thoughtful, number 9 even got himself a hat-trick in this match.

3. Fofana is tired of Martinelli

Wesley Fofana has received a lot of attention in recent times, when he is a target that Chelsea want to recruit. Leicester even shouted £ 90 million for the French midfielder. However, when witnessing Fofana’s performance against Arsenal, the Blues will have to… review.

Arranged to kick a right-back in a three-man defense, Fofana encountered many difficulties when facing Gabriel Martinelli. The speed, technique and mobility of the number 11 on Arsenal’s side made Fofana bewildered.

4. Saliba ripple

Saliba has an unfortunate own goal.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes combined well to make Jamie Vardy “silent” in the first round. However, in the second half, Saliba had a silly header that turned into an own goal. James Justin’s attempt to give the ball to Vardy was not very dangerous, but Saliba’s decision surprised goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and did not have time to react. However, the French midfielder then received encouragement from the home audience.

5. Super Positioning Cannon

One of Arsenal’s problems last season was that they created a lot of chances, but the conversion rate was very low. It seems that coach Arteta has solved this problem, when the Gunners scored 6 goals after only 2 rounds.

Bukayo Saka, Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Jesus combined well not only to make the Emirates team’s attacking style more virtual, but also more effective. Against Leicester, they had 6 shots on target, 4 of which were goals. Just make good use of the opportunity, Arsenal is definitely a formidable army.
