Amad Diallo appears to be publicly endorsing Mason Greenwood by adding two hearts as a caption to a picture of the exiled Manchester United player making his Getafe debut

After Mason Greenwood made his La Liga debut for Getafe on Saturday, Manchester United winger Amad Diallo appeared to publicly endorse the striker.

After it was decided that Greenwood would not continue to play at Old Trafford after the criminal charges against him were dropped, he was loaned out to the Spanish team.

Although the Englishman’s decision has drawn widespread criticism, Getafe and their supporters have welcomed him with open arms.

The 21-year-old attacker, whose last club appearance was in January 2022, had to wait to make his debut as he worked to regain his match fitness.

In the 77th minute of Getafe’s 3-2 victory over Osasuna on Saturday, Greenwood made his La Liga debut. The home crowd was very supportive and many were sporting shirts with his name on them.

His old United teammate Diallo, who turned to social media to express his joy at seeing Greenwood back on the field, has also shown support for him.

Diallo uploaded a photo of Greenwood warming up in the dugout on his Instagram story while he was watching the game on television and added two heart emojis to the caption.

The Ivory Coast player, who was Sunderland’s young player of the year after spending last season on loan there, is presently out due to injury.

Despite spending £37 million to go from Atalanta to United two years ago, Diallo has only made nine competitive appearances and has had trouble breaking into the first squad.

He replaced Greenwood in the 83rd minute of a 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad in a Europa League match to make his debut.

The sole acknowledgment from any of Greenwood’s former teammates, who have so far kept mum on the subject, was his public show of solidarity for the exiled United player.
