Christian Pulisic’s comeback with AC Milan, the powerhouse club in Italy, has been nothing short of spectacular. In his last six games for the U.S. men’s national team, the star forward has scored five goals and set up two more.
Liverpool is preparing for a future without Mohamed Salah, their biggest star, and Pulisic is supposedly a “candidate” to step into Salah’s enormous shoes, so his time at the San Siro could be coming to an end soon.
Two seasons after leaving England amidst tremendous club turnover at Chelsea, Pulisic could be on his way out of Serie A. Italian outlet Calciomercato.it was the first to mention the potential. With 31 goals in 73 appearances for the US national team, Pulisic will be an integral part of the American team’s World Cup preparations in two years.
Pulisic now has a national team manager in Mauricio Pochettino who, unlike Jurgen Klinsmann in the latter days of his 2016 term, has experience patrolling a major European sideline.
Although it has not been officially announced, Salah is supposedly set to leave this season on a transfer to Saudi Arabia. When the Egyptian player turns 33 in June, he will be eligible for his next lucrative contract.
Since his 2017 arrival at Liverpool, Salah has been among the team’s finest players.
With his 158 goals in 255 games for Liverpool, he was a key cog in the 2019 UEFA Champions League championship team’s victory.
