Chelsea can complete 12 contracts in August

Chelsea has a number of players with contracts that expire in less than a year, which could cause issues in the future

Chelsea has become quite familiar with players nearing the end of their contracts over the last 12 months. After months of speculation, Thomas Tuchel saw Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger leave at the end of their contracts earlier this summer.

Thiago Silva will be out of contract with the Blues next summer after signing a one-year extension in January. Cesar Azpilicueta will also be out of contract with the Blues after signing a one-year extension in January. The pair enter this season with doubts about their future, while N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have yet to sign new contracts.

Tuchel stated at the end of last season that he did not want situations like Christensen and Rudiger to occur again. Chelsea is having issues not only with the main squad’s pillars, but also with a number of other names. Marcus Bettinelli, Michy Batshuayi, and Ross Barkley are all nearing the end of their contracts, and it’s possible that the Blues will try to get some money out of them over the next four weeks rather than letting them leave for free.

veral talented Blues players are also out of contract in 2023. Billy Gilmour will leave the club soon if the club does not activate a clause that allows them to extend his contract until 2024 before loaning it out. You’ll be back next season. Similar situations exist for Leo Castledine, Dion Rankine, Dujon Sterling, Jude Soonsup-Bell, Jayden Wareham, Harvey Vale, and Charlie Webster. Some members of this group are now ready to gain experience with loan agreements. However, signing a new contract is frequently required before they leave.

Chelsea appears to be willing to persuade the highly regarded Vale and Webster. Vale traveled to Udinese with the first team during the first week of the tour in the United States, presumably as part of a plan to persuade him to accept a chance to play for the first team and thus agree to an extension in advance when temporarily departing.

Tuchel has hinted that future discussions with players such as Vale will take place. “Sometimes very young players like Harvey move from youth football to the Premier League and settle down for a year; however, they need to adapt gradually to the physicality and intensity of training, but at some point they will need to play,” Tuchel said of the youngster.

Chelsea must decide which group Vale belongs to, as well as examine other names to determine who they want to renew or accept the loss of. At Chelsea, August will be an exciting and busy month.
