With a win over Everton, Chelsea earned the first three points in the 2022–23 Premier League season
Coach Thomas Tuchel has sent out his best players in an effort to beat the home team Everton. Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly are rookies in addition to the old frame’s pillars. The best players were also utilized by coach Frank Lampard in the game against Chelsea, his former team.
The away team showed to be more dominant right after the first whistle. Kai Havertz attempted a high headshot from the direct free kick on the right in the seventh minute, but Jordan Pickford stopped him. Mason Mount’s opportunity to challenge The Toffees’ keeper came more than ten minutes later. Pickford stopped the Englishman’s powerful right-footed attempt as it was headed for the near corner.
The home team responded in the 24th minute. James Tarkowski attempts to score with a header after Vitalii Mykolenko crosses the ball from the left, but Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy blocks the shot. When Abdoulaye Doucoure fouled Ben Chilwell in the area in the seventh minute of first-half injury time, the game’s outcome was decided. Jorginho opened the scoring for the Blues after 11 minutes by striking Everton with a direct shot.
48 minutes into the game, the home team had an early chance in the second half. Demarai Gray escaped to face the Chelsea defender after Mendy and Thiago Silva failed to communicate, but he nearly missed the goalpost with his attempt. Doucoure missed a chance to score six minutes later when he got a shot inside the box.
The home team kept trying to increase its squad in order to score a goal to tie the game. Mykolenko launched an inaccurate shot in the 62nd minute. Nathan Patterson gave Dele Alli a chance in the penalty area in the 73rd minute, but the former Tottenham star handled it carelessly and the chance was lost.
The first dangerous opportunity for Chelsea did not come until the 83rd minute. With Raheem Sterling poised to cushion the ball close to the goal after Marc Cucurella’s initial phase on the ball, he extended out to clear the area, but the Everton defender worked hard to protect the home team.
In the remaining minutes, no other goals were scored, and Chelsea ultimately defeated Everton 1-0. The London team briefly moves up to sixth place in the standings with 3 points and a difference of +1. Everton was momentarily rated 16th in the meantime.
On the first day of the Premier League 2022–23, the lecturers and pupils of coach Thomas Tuchel earned three crucial points.
