Dodgers and Jacoby & Meyers help students return to school prepared

In an invitation-only event on August 12 at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Jacoby & Meyers will collaborate to give back-to-school backpacks and necessary school supplies to youngsters in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Dodgers athletes More than 2,000 pre-selected LAUSD students between the ages of 5 and 11 will receive Dodger backpacks, lunch bags, pencil cases, water bottles, and hats from Jason Heyward, Joe Kelly, Clayton McCullough, Bobby Miller, James Outman, David Peralta, Evan Phillips, Miguel Rojas, Amed Rosario, and Ryan Yarbrough, as well as coach Dino Ebel.

A total of 2,500 backpacks will be given away on Sunday, August 13, following the Rockies vs. Dodgers game, as part of a three-day bag giveaway, with 500 backpacks already having been distributed to Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball participants. Kids that take part in Kids Run the Bases will be entitled to a brand-new bag for the academic year.

As the senior director of government and community relations for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kristin McCowan commented, “We are thrilled to partner with Jacoby & Meyers once more to prepare students for school.” “This year, we’re so eager to increase our impact by giving away twice as many backpacks and offering a wider variety of items. We’re happy that we can help make sure that Los Angeles students may stand tall knowing that they have everything they need to achieve.
