Liverpool fans are pleased about new acquisition Federico Chiesa after he scored two goals in training.
Liverpool signed the forward on a four-year contract from Juventus for an initial cost of £10 million, which could increase to £12.5 million with add-ons.
He attended Sunday’s 3-0 triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford and started working with his new club on Thursday during the international break.
Two films of Chiesa demonstrating his goal-scoring abilities were uploaded on X, and Reds fans were pleased with what they saw.
The first saw him take up the ball on the right, skinning a defender and placing it in the bottom left corner with his right foot.
Federico Chiesa demonstrated why Liverpool supporters should be delighted with some beautiful goals in training.
The second was more memorable, with Chiesa receiving the ball 20 yards from goal and curling it into the top right corner.
The Liverpool fans reacted quickly to the films, with one saying, ‘Chiesa is going to be exceptional, really amazing.’
Arne Slot was full of praise for Chiesa when he detailed what he believes the 26-year-old will contribute to Liverpool after his deal.
The Italian twisted one into the upper corner as he got to grips with some of his new teammates.
“We are really happy to bring Federico to Liverpool,” the head coach told Liverpoolfc.com.
‘I don’t think anyone will need me to inform them about his talent because it has been obvious for many years in both club and international football.
“Federico is at a very nice age. He offers experience and talent, but he also has the ability to improve even more, which excites us.
‘I’ve stated all summer that it’s difficult to sign players for Liverpool because the quality of our current squad is so good, but with Federico, I believe we’ve found someone who will improve on what we have.
‘It’s not just his physical abilities; Federico has experience winning championships, including one with his national team, and dealing with losses and problems. This is the mentality we desire at Liverpool.
Not only that, but he has a tremendous work ethic that matches his talent.
‘He is a player who can make a difference and benefit the squad, so praise goes to Richard Hughes and everyone involved in bringing him to Liverpool.
‘For the time being, the priority is for Federico to join the squad and participate in training, and then we’ll see what the future holds.’
