Jerry West, the former star player for the Los Angeles Lakers, is asking roughly $1.5 million for a Ladera Heights house.
There is a history of famous athletes living in the Westside area. Those who have called the neighborhood home include Olympic gold medallist Peter Vidmar, boxer Ken Norton, and baseball icon Frank Robinson. Byron Scott, a former coach and player for the Lakers, is another ex-resident.
Built in 1964 and remodeled since then, the mint-colored ranch house features a swimming pool and occupies around a quarter of an acre.
There are five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a formal dining room, a refurbished center-island kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, and 3,212 square feet of living area overall. There’s a wet bar and another fireplace in the wood-paneled den.
According to property records, West sold the house more than ten years ago for approximately $750,000.
The listing is owned by Yvonne Rose-Jackson of Making a Difference. The list price is precisely $1,499,900.
West, now 78, spent his whole playing career with the Lakers, where he was a member of 14 all-star teams and the 1972 NBA champion. He was a member of six championship teams while an executive with the Lakers, having won executive of the year twice.
