The multibillionaire, hitmaker, rapper, and Beats pioneer Dr. Dre is saying goodbye to his beachside retreat of almost two decades. The 57-year-old native of Compton is boldly requesting $20 million for the Malibu residence that his former spouse, Nicole Young, formerly possessed.

Even if the property sells for far less than the $4.8 million Dre spent for it in 2000, he will still profit handsomely because Malibu real estate values have increased in the 22 years since he bought it. The three-story estate’s location on a nearly 7,000 square foot parcel of land on Carbon Beach in Malibu, which has developed into one of the most affluent neighborhoods in the city, is only one of its many distinctive features.
The description claims that this “contemporary beach estate” “exudes total luxury and sophistication.” Built in the early nineties, the luxurious home features floor to ceiling glass walls that flood every room with natural light and afford views of the river. The spacious great room, perfect for entertaining, is accessed through a tiny entrance.

Sliding glass doors in this room open to an exquisite stone fireplace and an oceanfront balcony. The entire area is secured by gates, an advanced security system, and a courtyard-style entry.
A recording studio, sizable exercise center, executive office, main bedroom with sauna, sitting area, private balcony, main closet, and five guest bedrooms are among the additional open-concept living spaces. This house on Carbon Beach is one of the largest at 9,000 square feet.

Nicole Young spent their contentious divorce living in Dr. Dre’s Malibu vacation home. The property is close to Malibu Nobu. Dr. Dre attempted to sell the house in the past. Ten years ago, there was a brief listing for the land close to the Pacific Coast Highway, with a price range of $11 million to $12.5 million.

In December, Dre filed for divorce from Young. He supposedly made her an offer of a $100 million lump sum, but he kept all of their assets for himself, including the $40 million mansion in Malibu, the $40 million estate in Brentwood, and the two Calabasas homes he purchased from Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. According to Forbes, he currently has a $400 million net worth.
