Jimmy Butler has been thinking about how his team did in the playoffs last year and what he wants to accomplish next year.
The Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler has never been afraid to say something important.
He has made promises in the past, so his latest words while in China shouldn’t come as a surprise. When CGTN Sports Scene asked Butler about last season, he again stood his ground in front of the microphone.
“Miami will win a championship someday,” Butler said.
Butler and the Heat want to win the NBA title this season. After losing to the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals, they are most likely to sign seven-time All-Star Damian Lillard. It makes them an even bigger danger.
Butler thought about what the team did last year for a while. He said it would have a lasting effect. Butler didn’t talk about himself very often. Instead, he credited his friends and the team as a whole for his achievements.
“Well, I mean, I think the most important reason we made it to the Finals was because we worked as a team. “The way we played all year, it was never about one person,” Butler said. “It was always about the team, and we had to play as one… We didn’t make it. Sometimes that’s okay, but it’s always about working as a team.”
Butler, who is known as a great leader, put the spotlight on his coworkers and praised them for the team’s success.
“Honestly, my favorite moments are when Gabe [Vincent] played well, Max [Strus] had a great game, or Bam [Adebayo] had a great game,” said Butler. “I enjoy seeing my friends do well. It makes me happy because I have always known what they can do.”
Since then, Vincent and Strus have moved on to play for other teams, but Butler still gave them credit. This shows that he’s a great boss. He still thanked them for what they did after they left. This tells us a lot about how he runs things.
