BTS member Jin, aka Kim Seok Jin, is preparing to serve in South Korea’s mandatory military service. Prior to his enlistment, the musician shared photographs of himself on the fan forum Weverse in his most recent army uniform. He donned a plain black T-shirt and a buzz cut with incredibly short hair. (Also see: Jin receives a nice present from J-Hope before his military enrollment)

In response to Jin’s latest photo, a BTS Army member tweeted, “How can he seem still beautiful?” “That’s right, still the cutest,” another said. “No matter what happens, I am PROUD of you, will always think of you, and will pray for you always!” remarked another. Come back safe, Kim Seokjin. I love you every day and for the rest of your life.”
Kim Seok Jin геvеаleɗ last month that he will join the military on December 13. According to South Korean news agency Yonhap, the Astronaut singer will spend five weeks at the recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do. Following his training, he will be assigned to an army frontline unit. Overall, he will serve for 18 months, and other BTS members, including RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, will follow in his footsteps. Before reconvening in 2025, the group will complete their required military service.

Earlier, BTS’ agency BigHit Music released a statement about Jin’s military service. The statement read, “Jin will fulfill his required time with the military by enlisting in the army. Please note that we will not be holding any kind of official event on the day of his recruitment.”
“The entrance ceremony is a time to be observed by military personnel and their families only. In order to prevent any issues that might occur from crowding, we ask fans to please refrain from visiting the site. Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts. We ask for your continued love and support for Jin until he finishes his military service and comes back. Our company will also strive to provide every support he needs during this time,” it ended.
Meanwhile, sources indicate that military authorities will go over and beyond to safeguard Jin’s safety during his enlistment at the military training camp. Jin made his solo debut in October, before returning to his responsibilities to his country, with the track The Astronaut.
