Kai Sotto’s FIBA World Cup participation uncertain after NBA Summer League injury

Originally slated to join Gilas Pilipinas practices on July 18, Kai Sotto’s availability for the national team’s workouts is currently unknown due to his current health situation. Now, getting better is his first priority.

In 13 minutes against the Portland Trail Blazers, Sotto recorded six points, four rebounds, three blocks, and one assist. It was his greatest Summer League performance.

The 21-year-old Filipino averaged 3.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 1.0 assists over 10.5 minutes over the course of two games during his inaugural NBA Summer League.

Originally scheduled to join the Gilas’ practices on July 18, Sotto’s availability is now unknown due to his current health situation as he prioritizes his recuperation going ahead.

Jordan Clarkson, a prominent player for the national team, has committed to representing the Philippines in the 2018 FIBA Basketball World Cup, according to the president of the Philippines national basketball organization (SBP), Al Panlilio, who made the announcement yesterday.

From August 25 to September 10th, the major basketball competition will be held in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia for the first time.

In Manila, the Philippines, Gilas Pilipinas is grouped with Angola, the Dominican Republic, and Italy.
