Kim Kardashian wants to “use her voice” to help children get justice.
The 42-year-old reality star, who has ex-husband Kanye West’s children North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and three-year-old Psalm, was honored with the Giving Tree Award at the 2022 Baby2Baby Gala on November 12 and used her speech to continue to support the nonprofit organization on their mission to provide essentials for children in poverty.
She stated: “As many of you know, I am deeply committed to advocating for justice. For me, justice has many different meanings, but it all boils down to what is fair, what is right, and what makes our world a better place, especially for our children. I will continue to use my voice and resources to support your mission, while we all work together to bring fairness, equality, and justice to so many children who have been denied access to basic necessities.”
The ‘Kardashian Family’ star was joined at the awards ceremony by her mother Kris Jenner, 67, and younger half-sister Kylie Jenner, 25. She went on to say that, unlike her, people do not need hundreds of millions of social media followers to make a difference before thanking her mother and late father Robert Kardashian for guiding her through such a “blessed life.”
She continued, saying: “To make a difference, you don’t have to break the internet or have millions of followers. Everyone in this room is powerful. Even the smallest efforts are beneficial. Our help is needed now more than ever to bridge the need gap and join the fight for change. I’d also like to thank my parents. Kris, my mother, the backbone and heartbeat of our family, for showing me what it means to prioritize her children and others. And my father, who instilled in me at a young age compassion, gratitude, and the importance of using this blessed life to bless others.”
Kim Kardashian Is Keeping the Barbie Trend Alive
Did you think Barbiecore was just a passing fad? Consider again! Kim Kardashian attended the annual Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles last night, which raises millions of dollars for children in need each year (Kardashian has donated more than $5 million to the cause; she and Skims co-founders Emma and Jens Grede donated another $1 million at the gala). She dressed up in a head-to-toe pink ensemble for the occasion.
This summer, stars like Megan Fox, Lizzo, and Kardashian were all wearing pink nonstop, and labels like Valentino made the bubblegum hue a recurring motif. (You may recall the ʋiral photos of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling filming Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie, which gave rise to the trend.) Kardashian wore Balenciaga’s pink, bowed gown into autumn, pairing it with the label’s mini top-handle bag and satiny, pointy boots. Of course, Kardashian’s signature look is monochromatic dressing, but in an all-over Pepto Bismol pink, her look was a clear nod to the enduring Barbie aesthetic. All she needed was a Ken to match.
