LeBron James, the standout player for the Los Angeles Lakers, blasted those who criticize Rich Paul on Twitter on Friday night after the agency signed three NBA free agents to deals worth a combined $400 million.
Paul has a close friendship with James, 38, and many of the agent’s detractors have long claimed that James’ friendship with Paul is the reason for the agent’s success. Rich Paul’s clientele are content. Paul’s clients Fred VanVleet and Draymond Green both won sizable contracts in the free agency period. With the aid of the top agency, Portland Trail Blazers player Jerami Grant was able to secure a five-year, $160 million agreement.
The 41-year-old Paul founded Klutch Sports Group and is the agent for many of the best players in the NBA, including Aaron Gordon, Anthony Davis, and James.

Having played for the Toronto Raptors for eight seasons, VanVleet, 29, has signed a three-year, $130 million contract with the Houston Rockets.
