Liverpool bid worth £40M would be accepted

Liverpool could sign Villarreal star Yeremy Pino this month if a report from Spain is accurate.

Liverpool should be allocating their available funds to a midfield signing, but the Reds have reportedly made a £40 million bid for Pino.

According to Xavi Jorquera, Arsenal and Liverpool have both made offers of €40 million for the Villarreal winger, but the Spanish club wants €60 million.

According to AS, a bid of £34M-£42M would be accepted, making Pino the club’s most expensive sale ever.

As George Priestman previously stated, Pino is a statistically perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s team, ranking in the 99th percentile for shots on target (%), average shot distance, blocks, passes blocked, and shots blocked.

He’s a very different type of player than what Klopp already has at his disposal, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Pino, 19, has been lighting up La Liga this season, scoring 7 goals and assisting 4 in 1,685 minutes, but it was his link-up play and technical ability that drew my attention.

Liverpool lacks depth on the wings, with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah the club’s only natural wingers, but despite reports, I don’t think Klopp will sign Pino.

I didn’t think Liverpool would make a signing until this weekend, even if I thought it was possible, but after Thiago’s hamstring injury, I don’t see how the Reds can justify not signing a new midfielder.

Even if they plan to sign Jude Bellingham in 2023, it would be irresponsible not to bring in someone like Matheus Nunes this summer.

The Portuguese midfielder appears to be tailor-made for Klopp’s team, as he possesses the strength and tackling ability to be very effective in the press, as well as the creativity, vision, and passing ability to make a difference in transition and against low block defenses.

In the opening Premier League game against Fulham, Salah was average in the first half and Diaz was nowhere to be found in the second. However, Klopp did not have anyone good enough on the bench to come in and impact the game from the flanks.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the Merseysiders missed Sadio Mane last weekend and they must act swiftly to strengthen the offense.

In your view, should Liverpool offer £38million to sign Yeremy Pino?
