In order to recruit France international Aurelien Tchouameni next year, Liverpool is reportedly prepared to up their “offer” to Real Madrid.
Martin Zubimendi, a Spanish international, was Arne Slot’s primary target when they were looking to add a midfield player in the summer.
The Real Sociedad player’s contract included a £51 million release clause, and at one point, this move appeared possible. However, he ultimately decided to remain with his boyhood club, therefore Liverpool lost out on their top target.
Despite being connected to a number of midfield players before to the winter transfer window, Liverpool chose not to sign an alternative.
Tchouameni is reportedly back on the radar of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, who were interested in him before he joined Real Madrid.
Real Madrid is allegedly concerned about the 24-year-old’s recent performances because of his “unconvincing” form this season.
According to a recent report by Belgian writer Sacha Tavolieri, Slot is “obsessed” with the midfield player, and Liverpool has been “in contact with his entourage in recent days to discuss a transfer.”

Tavolieri is aware that Tchouameni is a target for Chelsea as well and that a trade could involve him. The Frenchman is viewed as a “bargaining chip,” and Real Madrid is reportedly “ready to listen to offers” for him.
In addition to using him as a negotiating chip, the Madrid club would be willing to consider any and all offers for the new French captain.
“Real Madrid sees Enzo Fernandez as a promising player to finish their midfield, and if they can get Tchouaméni to join the deal, they may be able to negotiate a better price with his club, Chelsea Football Club.”
However, according to a Spanish newspaper, Tchouameni “seems to be getting closer” to leaving Real Madrid, and Liverpool is “preparing their first offer” for him.In an attempt to get him to Anfield, Liverpool is reportedly “preparing an initial offer of 60 million euros, but Real Madrid do not seem willing to accept that figure as a starting point.” It adds.
