Man United is concerned about two rookies

Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, two rookies for Manchester United, are causing concern

Manchester United will begin actively preparing for the new season very soon. Erik ten Hag immediately flew to Old Trafford after winning the Dutch national championship with Ajax. He didn’t need a break and jumped right into a new job.

The figures in the senior department are constantly meeting, and negotiations to buy new recruits have been ongoing for some time. Everything at Manchester United moves quickly because the Red Devils do not want to waste valuable time.

Ten Hag’s plans, however, do not always go as planned. The Dutch leader has given careful consideration to every detail, but many things appear to be beyond the former Ajax captain’s control. Some players in the UEFA Nations League are given additional rest time. As a result, the majority of the pillars were unable to attend the first training sessions with Ten Hag, resulting in a lack of time to adjust to the increased intensity of the game that the new coach desired.

Tyrell Malacia was the club’s only signing before their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. And, after a summer of adapting well to Ten Hag’s requirements and putting in impressive performances, Malacia is ready to knock Luke Shaw out of the game this weekend against Brighton.

When Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez can make their Manchester United debuts

Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, on the other hand, did not make the preseason tour. This rookie duo has only been in the new environment for a week. Although both performed well in a friendly match last weekend, they are unlikely to start from the start in the Premier League 2022/23.

Eriksen and Martinez have an advantage over Malacia because they arrive later. Not only are they missing out on bonding opportunities, but they are also missing out on training sessions and have a poor understanding of what they need to do to fit in with their new team. The only thing going for Ten Hag is that both players know what to expect from him. Martinez previously worked with Ten Hag at Ajax, and Eriksen once visited the Johan Cruyff Arena while looking for a new club.

Coming late to Manchester United and having little time to prepare is a disadvantage for two former Ajax players. Of course, later rookies, such as Benjamin Sesko and Frenkie de Jong, faced the same difficulties.

This is a test for Ten Hag. Man United will not be able to become the strongest version unless Eriksen and Martinez contribute fully.
