Before the start of the new season, the Old Trafford squad is pressed for time to finish the rookies
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is reportedly seeking up to five new contracts by September 1. The Old Trafford team has had a rather difficult summer thus far.
Even though Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, and Lisandro Martinez have all joined the club at Old Trafford, Ten Hag believes that additional acquisitions are necessary if the team hopes to contend for the Premier League championship the following year.
The Dutchman wants to sign five more players before the transfer season ends, according to the Manchester Evening News. After deciding to let Dean Henderson go out on loan, Ten Hag believes the Red Devils need a new backup goalkeeper.
Sergio Romero wishes to return to Old Trafford, but “Man Utd has not given any indication that they will approve the agreement,” according to the player. United obviously wants a midfielder, of course.
Particularly since Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic left the team, along with Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard, they are lacking players in the midfield. The main aim is Frenkie de Jong. Barcelona and United have reached an agreement worth €85 million.
De Jong, though, has not yet consented to travel to Old Trafford. As a result, Man Utd view Youri Tielemans, Ruben Neves, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as backup options. In recent years, they have all left a lasting effect.
At a time when Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is unknown, United wants a top striker. The international player from Portugal played 45 minutes against Rayo Vallecano in his preseason debut. He appeared to be prepared to leave, though.
Ten Hag admires a number of players, including Antony, with whom he previously enjoyed success while playing for Ajax in the Netherlands. Man Utd is also keeping an eye on Benjamin Sesko as a player. Erling Haaland has been likened to this young prodigy.
Sasa Kalajdzic of Stuttgart is another option. For the Bundesliga team, this player scored 24 goals in 57 contests. Right-back is the fifth and last player United wants to sign.
Coach Ten Hag is planning to let Ethan Laird go on loan, but he has some doubts about Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot. Thus, Manchester United’s next transfer targets are a goalkeeper, a midfielder, two strikers, and a full back.
What if Manchester United is unsuccessful in acquiring Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong? Exists a backup strategy? Fabian Ruiz of Napoli, a midfielder who delivers a balance between attack and defense, may be their preferred choice. With only one year remaining on his Napoli contract, the Spaniard may be available to Man Utd in a trade.
