Man Utd captain speaks openly about squad’s striker

Despite reports from last season that there were schisms between them, Harry Maguire has praised Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese superstar is said to be dissatisfied with Maguire’s role as club captain during a disastrous season for Manchester United, which saw them finish with the fewest points in Premier League history and miss out on a place in the Champions League.

Despite Maguire’s difficulties, both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, interim coach Ralf Rangnick, and Erik ten Hag have chosen to keep him as captain.

According to the BBC Sport website, there is a schism in the Manchester United dressing room. Some players believe Ronaldo should be named captain. And, most recently, Maguire has denied all claims that he and CR7 had a falling out. Instead, the £80 million centre-back praised Ronaldo for what he has to offer as a former Real Madrid and Juventus player.

“Cristiano is a great player and a great character to have around us,” Maguire said. I know how it feels to be the subject of much speculation in the media.

Given the size of the club, that’s what you get when you play for Manchester United. When things are going well, on the other hand, you get a lot of compliments. That’s football, and that’s what we do.”

Ten Hag clearly chose Martinez or Varane to start the Brighton match.

This weekend marks the start of the Ten Hag era at Old Trafford, with new signings Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, and Tyrell Malacia all registering.

Martinez became Manchester United’s most expensive player this summer when he signed a £ 56.7 million contract with Ajax. The Argentine player is also quite versatile, capable of playing in a variety of positions.

According to AS, coach Ten Hag chose Martinez to play alongside captain Harry Maguire against Brighton, while Raphael Varane will be forced to sit on the bench.

According to the report, Ten Hag used the same starting lineup this week, with Martinez partnering with Maguire on a regular basis.

Ten Hag responded to a question about Martinez and Eriksen’s readiness for the match against Brighton by saying: “We need competition in the squad, but we also have a long season ahead of us with a lot of games.

We require a large number of talented players. Both are capable of getting started.”

Ten Hag also insists that he is open to selecting Cristiano Ronaldo as a replacement for Anthony Martial, who is out with a hamstring injury. According to Ten Hag: “I am overjoyed that he is here. We have a fantastic striker. We stick to our game plan.”
