Respect between two of Los Angeles’ MVPs in their respective sports.
Your Los Angeles Dodgers were treated to one of the NBA’s all-time greats tonight, as All-NBA Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James sat in a skybox to see the Dodgers play the Miami Marlins. In the top of the ninth inning at Echo Park, the Dodgers lead the Marlins 3-1.
In a very fitting moment for LeBron James Bobblehead Night, the two Los Angeles MVPs in attendance appeared to swap respect.
According to Noah Camras of All Dodgers, when the Dodgers’ seven-time All-Star second baseman hit his second home run of the evening (and 34th of the season! ), James stood and saluted 2018 AL MVP Mookie Betts. Betts responded by applauding James after completing his trek to home plate. In another sign of appreciation, James removed his hat and tipped it towards the two-time World Series champion.

Here’s the second salute:
James, a 19-time All-Star and 19-time All-NBA selection, is one of basketball’s most decorated players. Betts, 30, is a generational talent, much like the Lakers’ LeBron James. It’s entertaining to witness the two Los Angeles superstars’ kind moment of appreciation.
More Lakers-Dodgers action is on the way this season. The 1st of September is officially Lakers Day at Dodger Stadium, with attendees receiving special Kobe Bryant-centric jerseys.
