Jimmy Butler, a superstar for the Miami Heat, could not resist making a lighthearted boast about his NBA 2K24 rating. When Butler was hanging out with his buddies in a recent video that was posted online and quickly went viral, he made a witty remark about his 95 rating on 2K24 while informing his friends that he doesn’t know them anymore.
The previous year, Butler’s performance in the postseason was outstanding. Despite the fact that they were the eighth seed in the tournament, he led the Miami Heat to a spot in the Finals. They advanced to the NBA Finals for the second time in three seasons by claiming victory over title contenders such as the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics.
Jimmy Butler was, without a question, the most valuable player for them in the postseason. He shot 46.8% from the field and finished with 26.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game on average. It’s possible that his contributions were a factor in him receiving a 95 rating in NBA 2K24. The previous year, he had a rating of 93.
In the meantime, Nikola Jokic has the highest rating, which is 98. Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry all have the same rating of 96.
The other players with a rating of 95 are Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, Kawhi Leonard, Devin Booker, and Damian Lillard. Butler is ranked alongside them.
When looking back at Jimmy Butler’s 2K ratings from the past year, it is clear that Jimmy Butler has spent the majority of his career as a postseason player. During the course of the regular season, he did not produce at a level that would have earned him the MVP award, but when it came time for the knockout rounds, he showed everyone why he is considered to be one of the best players.
Butler demonstrated this once again throughout the previous year. He was never selected for the All-Star game, but he ended up being the player that guided an eighth seed team all the way to the championship game. His 2K ratings take a blow as a result of this, but based on his play in the playoffs, Butler deserves to be ranked among the top 10 players almost every year.
It would appear that NBA 2K has taken note of this, as they have given him the highest career rating possible in the game.
In 2012, Butler’s path to the top 2000 began with a rating of 67. He was only a sophomore at the time and wasn’t given nearly as much attention. After entering the league with the 30th overall pick, Butler played in only a few games during his rookie year and did not begin to establish himself as a star until the next year.
After winning the Most Improved Player award in 2014 and averaging 20.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game in 2015, Butler’s rating jumped from 76 in 2013 to 80 in 2014 and then to 86 the following year. During that span, Butler established himself as an indispensable member of the Chicago Bulls, helping the team to reach the postseason five times during his time with the team.
Over the course of the subsequent several years, Jimmy Butler’s popularity grew a little bit further. Before reaching a career high of 95, it had been 88 in 2016, 90 in 2017, 89 in 2018, 88 in 2019, 89 in 2020, 91 in 2021, and 93 in 2022 before to this year’s score.
