Officially, Real Madrid named their top choice to replace Benzema

To reduce the load on Karim Benzema, Real Madrid is implementing a plan to recruit the German striker before the summer transfer market opens.

Real Madrid closed the US tour with many useful things and is currently preparing for the European Super Cup match, meeting rival Eintracht Frankfurt in a week (August 10).

Coach Carlo Ancelotti suggested increasing the number of attacking individuals in addition to developing strategies to win the first championship of the new season.

Timo Werner is the target that Coach Ancelotti wants, according to discussions he has had with President Florentino Perez.

In addition to searching for a partner to sell Mariano Diaz, Real Madrid recently sold Borja Mayoral to Getafe for 10 million euros (Celta Vigo is interested). Prior to it, the club let Luka Jovic’s contract expire (now coming to Fiorentina).

Real Madrid’s assault is drastically reduced in manpower as a result. There are no real strikers available for coach Ancelotti to hold in reserve for Karim Benzema at this time.

After a spectacular explosive season, Benzema, who will turn 35 later this year, needs to reduce his minutes on the pitch to maintain maximum effectiveness. Moreover, he is likely to join France for the World Cup in Qatar, so his fitness will be affected.

In the new season, Real Madrid has ambitions to defend the La Liga and Champions League titles, as well as win other awards. A squad with depth is essential to accomplish the goal.

President Perez needs a player who not only plays as a striker but can also fulfill many different roles. Werner fits this requirement perfectly.

The 26-year-old German striker can play the “Number 9” as well as an attacking role on both sides. During his time at Chelsea, he was very active.

Werner can also replace Vinicius Junior when needed. Or he joins Benzema and the young Brazilian star to form a new attacking trio.

Real Madrid continue to keep Eden Hazard for at least another year. However, coach Ancelotti does not expect much from the Belgian star, with only 6 goals in 3 seasons at the Bernanbeu, so he urgently needs Werner.
