Overwhelmed with the ‘huge’ amount of money that a company spends to hire Ronaldo for a day

Ronaldo is comfortably the highest-paid player in world football after penning a whopping £173 million-a-year contract with Al Nassr.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward is a marketing machine and has brought new eyes on football in the Middle East.

On the pitch, he’s scored eight times, including two hat-tricks, and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is still going strong at the ripe old age of 37.

With his salary broken down, Ronaldo is essentially earning £514,000 per day and £21,400 per hour. But incredibly, the rates are much cheaper there than what a company forked out for his services back in 2017.

The eye-opening Football Leaks book from by Der Spiegel journalists Rafael Buschmann and Michael Wulzinger uncovered details on how much it costs to hire one of the most famous people in the world.

The book reveɑls that Mobily, a Saudi telecoms business, struck a deal with Ronaldo’s Irish image rights company, Multisports & Image Management.

They would get four-and-a-half hours of his time and this comprised of a photo-shoot, five signed shirts and two plugs across his social media channels, where he is said to earn around £1.6 million per sponsored post.

Mobily were allowed to use images that were taken on the day, but the advertising was only regional as the publication was limited to the Middle East and North Africa area.

For all of the above, Ronaldo and his representatives charged the company an enormous £920,000. Not too shabby at all.

After moving to Riyadh, Ronaldo and his full entourage, including family, friends and security, took up residence at the Four Seasons hotel and occupied 17 rooms.

According to reports, Ronaldo was paying £250,000 per month to stay there but he and his crew have since relocated.

It’s believe Ronaldo is now living in an exclusive compound with a huge security presence and easy access to restaurants, shops, gyms and other amenities.

Kylian Mbappe finally changes his tune on Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi debate

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe appears to have performed a stark u-turn over who he believes is better between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The two attackers have developed a spirited rivalry throughout the course of their individual careers, which peaked during their time with Real Madrid and Barcelona. After finally winning a World Cup championship medal in Qatar last year, it seemed that Messi had put the discussion to rest.

However, Messi’s outstanding season appears to have irrevocably altered Mbappe’s perspective for the better. The Portuguese superstar Ronaldo has long been a hero in the eyes of the Frenchman.

The striker’s father admitted that the veteran was among Mbappe’s heroes within the game. Speaking in 2016, he said: “He [Mbappe] is a Real Madrid fan and his idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. He used to spend hours watching videos [of Ronaldo] on the internet.”

That was a claim that was backed up by Mbappe’s former teammate Abdou Diallo. He previously suggested that the striker was under no illusions over who was better.

Speaking in December, the defender said: “Cristiano Ronaldo is literally everything to Kylian Mbappe. If you mention Lionel Messi against Cristiano, Mbappe will debate with you for at least an hour. For him, Cristiano is untouchable.”

Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe were both named in the FIFPRO Men’s World XI

Mbappe performed his change of opinion on social media in the aftermath of The Best FIFA Awards. A glitzy ceremony was held in Paris on Monday evening to celebrate the best players in both the men’s and the women’s game in 2022.

Messi was named as the Best Men’s Player of the Year following his outstanding performances as Argentina lifted the World Cup, whilst he has also managed to find electric form. The veteran was also named in the FIFPRO Men’s World XI alongside his club teammate Mbappe.

The latter issued his response to the pair’s evening, whilst sending his congratulations to Messi with a telling message. Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Another trophy at home. Big congratulations to @leomessi you are #TheBest.”

This season, as PSG attempts to win another Ligue 1 championship, the two have undoubtedly developed a great working relationship on the field. He had a shaky debut season at Parc des Princes, but this season he has 17 goals and 16 assists across all competitions.

While this has been going on, Mbappe has also had a great time, scoring 29 goals in all competitions so far this season. When attending the FIFA awards ceremony in Paris, the Frenchman also displayed another sᴜrprising response.

He had a determined expression on his face as Villa goalie Emi Martinez was awarded the Best Men’s Goalkeeper, his adversary from the World Cup final..
