Real Madrid may retain a wanted duo before the long season

Real Madrid will enter the 2022-2023 season as the defending Champions League and La Liga champions.

The La Liga season will be extraordinary and record-breakingly long.

For starters, it will be the first to finish in June.

The start is the European Super Cup match against Frankfurt on August 10. Historically, Los Blancos have won this cup 4 times, 1 less than Barcelona and AC Milan.

Real Madrid is the greatest club in the Champions League with 14 titles. Of course, they are still good candidates next season. Although strong and weak at times are different, in the Champions League, Real Madrid is always a formidable force.

For teams, especially those with a large number of foreign players, the World Cup break in the midst of the season will pose many challenges. This will be especially true for those two clubs that are expected to advance far in several tournaments this season. Real Madrid are therefore more prone to have problems than most.

Los Blancos have had two quality additions this summer: defender Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea, and Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco.

It appears that the club’s intentions are shifting as a result. Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio, two members of the squad, may desire to go, and Los Blancos would likely sell them if a strong offer came through. But now it’s not a top priority.

As planned, Kylian Mbappe will arrive at the Bernabeu this summer, and become the core of Real Madrid’s sports project, but everything fell apart at the last minute. However, with the outstanding maturity of young talents, especially the duo Vinicius and Rodrygo, Real Madrid’s attack is still guaranteed. In the coming years, the Bernabeu team will have enough competition for titles, before thinking about re-recruiting Mbappe.

According to AS, Carlo Ancelotti’s new strategy is to retain a squad as deep as possible for the next marathon. If they’re content with playing just seldom, everyone might benefit.
