Rich Dad, Poor Dad: Usain Bolt hides his over $100M fortune from his children, building up mental health resilience and his young children being unaware of fame

EXCLUSIVE: ‘They have a long way to go before they know who their dad is!’ Usain Bolt details building up mental health resilience and his young children being unaware of fame

Opening up: Usain Bolt has spoken candidly about building up mental health resilience, while joking his three children 'have a long way to go' before they realise their dad's worldwide fame

Usain Bolt has been open about developing resilience in his mental health, even if he has joked that his three kids “have a long way to go” before they understand how famous their father is.

The 35-year-old eight-time Olympic gold medallist is with his partner Kasi Bennett, 32, and they have twin boys, Saint and Thunder, who are 12 months old, and Olympia, who is two years old.

Before Sunday’s Soccer Aid in support of UNICEF UK, he spoke exclusively to MailOnline during practice. He added, “I just learned from a young age that you will win some, you’ll lose some but if you work hard, you’ll be fine.”

During their forthcoming charity football match, Usain, who retired from running and took up music production, made a friend in Tom Grennan. He promised to work with the 27-year-old singer on a song for his second album.

After releasing his debut album Country Yutes in September of last year, Usain had previously stated that he was eager to work with musicians in the UK and had already contacted a number of them.

He has since acknowledged that he only gave singing a shot once before deciding he “wasn’t good enough” and that a DJ would be a better fit.

“I’m a producer; I can’t sing,” Usain declared. I had known that from the beginning. After my one attempt, I didn’t think I was good enough. Recognize what I mean? Since I was aware of my limitations, I make music.

Wow! While he's known globally as the fastest man alive, he quipped that his brood of three will be completely unaware of his successes for a good while (pictured in 2016)

Whoa!Despite being the fastest man alive, he joked that his three children won’t know anything about his accomplishments for a long time (image from 2016).

Eager Tom, who collaborated with Calvin Harris on the song “By Your Side” in 2021, immediately interrupted, saying, “I’ll jump on a track with him still.”

“Yes, next year when I’m working on an album,” Usain retorted.

The Little Bit Of Love hitmaker then declared that he would “absolutely” be willing to travel to Usain’s Jamaican studio.

In April, Tom suffered an unjustified attack that resulted in a “ruptured eardrum” after he was mugged after a show in New York.

Talented: Usain, who turned to producing music after his retirement, admitted he tried his hand at singing once before realising he 'wasn't good enough' and would be better as a DJ

Talented: Usain acknowledged that he attempted singing once before concluding he “wasn’t good enough” and that he would be better off as a DJ. After retiring, he resorted to creating music.

He gave a health report, saying, “It’s healing, it’s healing.” It was a frightening moment, but regrettably, things like that sometimes happen. All I can do is move forward and appear optimistic.

“Listen, the doctors told me that my hearing is improving, but I still need to enjoy where I am right now and look forward.” I’m in the dream world.

I would only add that I am unable to wear headphones at this time. Yes, it’s awful, but at least I’m getting a little break from it, so everything’s okay.

Exciting: Having found a friend in Tom Grennan ahead of the charity football match, Usain vowed to collaborate with the singer, 27, on his second album (Tom pictured with Kem Cetinay)

‘I think it’s really good because, like myself, if I didn’t have the right support and the right people guiding me, I don’t know if I would have got far in life,’ Mo Farah remarked in reference to serving as a role model for young people.

Because we have the power to do so, it is crucial that we give back to the community, support charities, and transform people’s lives.

‘To us, it’s not a lot,’ he continued in reference to Soccer Aid. Every year on one day, we gather all the celebrities to try to raise the most money possible. We can improve lives, especially those of children, if everyone gets involved.

The London Stadium will host the event on Sunday, June 12th, with the goal of raising money for UNICEF, a nonprofit that assists the world’s most impoverished children.

Since the event’s inception in 2006, more than £60 million has been raised; the match in 2021 set a record by raising £13 million.

The proceeds from this year’s game might fund UNICEF’s efforts to combat starvation, administer vaccines, and create safe havens for kids during emergencies so they can reclaim the childhoods they deserve.

Among the celebrities scheduled to compete are Liam Payne, Damian Lewis, Mo Gilligan, Mark Wright, Chelcee Grimes, Martin Compston, and Idris Elba.

On Sunday at 6:30 p.m., Soccer Aid for UNICEF will show on ITV.
