Smile! Van Dijk comes to the training camp after AC Milan winning
Liverpool has officially announced the “ideal” alternative for Virgil van Dijk in their EXIT plan
It is said that Liverpool is preparing for Virgil van Dijk’s departure. Now, a “perfect” substitute is in mind.
According to TeamTalk, Liverpool intends for Virgil van Dijk to depart the team in 2025. The Dutchman’s current contract expires in June of next year, and he has not yet signed, or supposedly not even approached, a new one.
The Reds are developing a succession plan as a result. Richard Hughes, the sporting director, seems to be moving forward with other objectives, or at least making an effort to reduce the number on his list.

Gleison Bremer of Juventus is one name that is purportedly featured on that list. Bremer and Liverpool have been associated for many years, even before he moved from Torino to their nearby rivals.
Furthermore, according to Rudy Galetti, Bremer is now viewed as the “ideal candidate” to succeed Van Dijk in the upcoming season. The ‘Defender of the Year’ from 2022 Serie A has been selected to Italy’s Team of the Season three times running.
He’s by no means the only choice here, though. Along with Marc Geuhi, who was the subject of much speculation towards the close of the transfer window, Sporting center-back Goncalo Inacio is another player that Liverpool is considering.
Another player who has been often linked to Liverpool over the past year is Inacio. And much like with Guehi, those rumors reappeared near the end of the window.
The Reds could pursue Loic Bade of Sevilla as well. But he claims that his asking price is too high.
Liverpool intends to let Van Dijk go.Three of Liverpool’s superstars are almost at the end of their contracts, including Van Dijk, so the team has a lot to worry about right now. The contracts of Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold will also expire unless they accept to fresh extensions.
However, there is still more work to be done, so we won’t be worrying too much just yet. Liverpool should, first and foremost, make escape plans in case something happens.
On this one, the Reds cannot afford to wait and see. To be prepared for the worst, they need to identify possible successors now and go to work on them for next year.
Therefore, although there’s no need to panic, the process of replacing three all-time greats will begin.
