View the Pennsylvania Childhood Home of President Joe Biden
This Scranton, Pennsylvania, house was home to the 46th president until he was ten years old.
Although Joe Biden currently resides in Washington, D.C., he spent some of his formative years in this Scranton, Pennsylvania, home long before the politician was elected as the 46th president of the United States.
According to ABC News, Biden’s family shared the three-story Colonial house at 2446 N. Washington Ave. in Scranton’s Green Ridge area with his maternal grandparents, the property’s owners. Biden and his family relocated to Claymont, Delaware, in 1953, when he was ten years old, according to a House Beautiful article.
The house’s current owner told ABC News that she purchased it from the Biden family in 1962 and that Biden “has visited often.”
The former vice president visited the house on Election Day in November 2020 and left a motivational message on a wall. “With God’s grace, from this house to the White House. Joe Biden 11-3-2020,” penned the message.
