Our eighth Vice President has lived in this beautiful D.C. house. He is the first Black Vice President.

People in the United States know a lot about the White House. The house where our leaders have lived and worked, doing everything from holding Easter Egg rolls to giving the country important news. But not much is known about where the Vice President lives. In fact, you might not know that the Vice President didn’t have a real home until the 1970s.

First Lady Kamala Harris is a parent to Ella and Cole Emhoff, who are the children of her husband Doug Emhoff.

The vice president, who is currently the favorite to be the Democratic presidential candidate in 2024, got married in 2014. Doug was married to Kerstin Emhoff for 16 years. They had a son named Cole in 1994 and a daughter named Ella in 1999.

In a 2019 personal essay for ELLE, she said, “They are beautiful, smart, funny kids who have grown into amazing adults.” “I was already interested in Doug, but I think Cole and Ella hooked me.”
