Money has always been the player's top priority.
Mariano Diaz hasn’t had any intentions to leave Real Madrid this summer, as has been known since before the Champions League final in May.
Instead, his strategy has been to finish out his contract with the European champions before leaving the organization free of charge the following summer. Even today, he is certain in it.
At Real Madrid, Mariano receives a net salary of 4.5 million euros, a sum he would never receive from any other Spanish team, and there aren’t many foreign clubs interested in signing him.
It’s obvious that he doesn’t want to forfeit that income, and it would be a great shock if he left the team before the end of August.
His interests have been evident for the past three years, and no longer does anyone at Real Madrid find it surprising. He is unconcerned about his shortfall in minutes. He enjoys getting good pay.
At Real Madrid, Mariano has a history of ailments, suffering six different injuries just last year.
He has only played 1,907 of the 18,810 potential minutes over the past four seasons.
Mariano was only on the verge of leaving Valdebebas once, when Valencia knocked last year. He would have made much more money there than in the capital, but everything abruptly fell through at the last minute without explanation.
After seeing the player, Valencians allegedly weren’t impressed, which is why the deal didn’t go through.
Ancelotti has been straightforward
Even after allowing Borja Mayoral and Luka Jovic to go this summer, Carlo Ancelotti has no intentions to employ Mariano. He may be replaced at number nine by Marco Asensio, Rodrygo Gomes, and Eden Hazard.
Mariano no longer annoyed Real Madrid fans anymore. The team is aware that his lack of desire conflicts with who they are, and he will go in the summer of 2019.
