The Reds’ Darwin Nunez taunts his teammate Real Madrid transfer hints surround Trent Alexander-Arnold and fellow preseason returnees

One of Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool teammates has obviously been paying attention to the rumors that have circulated about a possible transfer to Real Madrid this summer.

After a lengthy summer vacation to recover from the European Championship, the English fullback has returned to his team.

Despite England reaching the final and losing to Spain, Alexander-Arnold was benched throughout the competition. As Liverpool resumed their preseason training on Sunday, he joined five other players in returning to the AXA Training Centre.

There have been whispers about him wanting to leave Anfield for Real Madrid in recent months, and his current deal only has a year left on it.While they were walking through the facilities with Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez couldn’t help but make a joke about this. ‘On the way to training, Nunez yelled out to his teammate, “Y el Real Madrid? Chao!” Farewell, sir.

With the footage capturing the occasion, all three men couldn’t help but giggle.

But the Reds “are confident he sign a new deal and extended his stay,” as talkSPORT puts it, with the club where he became a fan.

Alexander-Arnold and Arne Slot, Liverpool’s new manager, can reach an agreement on the player’s contract.

“I fear my response may be somewhat dull,” he said. This is probably the same response you’ve gotten for the past five, six, or seven years.

“Just keep trying,” I would advise, “because that contract situation is not discussed here.”

Jude Bellingham, a Madrid midfielder and a personal friend of Alexander-Arnold’s, was a visitor over part of the summer holiday.

It was widely believed that Alexander-Arnold could have enticed England’s top player to join Liverpool before he joined with Real Madrid, and since Bellingham was introduced to the England setup two years ago, the two have become close friends.

However, it did not materialize, and now the tables have turned, with Bellingham’s fate being sealed and Alexander-Arnold’s uncertain.

Their exploits have continued since their appearance at a LA party earlier this week, when they were once again accompanied by members of their entourages. They had dinner at the world-famous Nobu Malibu, which would have been ideal for Bellingham to use as a springboard to negotiate a possible relocation with his friend.

Since Alexander-current Arnold’s contract is up in a year, an agreement may be reached as early as January; pre-contract arrangements could be struck a few months before the expiration.

If that were to occur, Madrid would not be the first club to secure a free transfer of significant financial value; this summer, Kylian Mbappe left PSG in France to join Real Madrid.

As a product of Liverpool’s academy, Alexander-Arnold has become one of the club’s most valuable players.

Across all competitions, he has 310 club appearances, 19 goals, and 81 assists.

When Alexander-Arnold was a member of the first team, he won many trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, and Super Cup.
