The unexpected pay that Sadio Mane received after leaving European soccer to play in Saudi Arabia

Even after his well-publicized transfer from Liverpool to Bayern Munich and his subsequent partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, Sadio Mane continues to be overshadowed by his old teammate Mohamed Salah.

Even now, more than a year after his profitable switch, he isn’t outearning Salah. Mane, who is 32 years old, is halfway through a three-year contract and is one of four Saudi players in the top 10 earners in the league. However, he makes less than half as much as other players in his league.Salah’s $53 million in earnings, of which $18 million came from off-field sources, propel him one spot ahead of Mane. Salah is therefore still far more marketable even though Mane is paid more by his team.

At $285 million, Ronaldo is the most paid soccer player on the planet. The next highest paid player is Lionel Messi ($135 million), followed by Neymar ($110 million), Karim Benzema ($104 million), Kylian Mbappe ($90 million), Erling Haaland ($60 million), and Vinicius Jr. ($55 million) in eighth place. Kevin De Bruyne, whose earnings are $39 million, completes the top 10.

During his six-year tenure at Liverpool, Mane scored 120 goals, which helped the Reds win the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, European Super Cup, Club World Cup, and Champions League under manager Jurgen Klopp. Additionally, he was a member of the teams that advanced to the Champions League finals in both 2018 and 2022, where they were defeated by Real Madrid.

During his tenure on Merseyside, Mane won numerous individual accolades, such as the Liverpool Fans’ Player of the Season title. With 22 goals in the 2018–19 season, he shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
