Although he didn’t play much for Bayern Munich, his talent was well known across Holland.

The management gave him confidence because he was aware of this. Ryan has proven himself. He is exceptional. “I was a left winger before coming to Liverpool, but after coming here, I started to play more as a central striker,” he said. However, I played as a winger once more during the Euros last summer. After I spoke with the new manager, he advised me to concentrate on the left winger.

He instructed me to simply present myself, and that was my stance. I feel quite comfortable in this role and aim to demonstrate my full potential because it is now like the old me, what I did at PSV.

I face the opponent when I enter one-on-one situations on the left so I can shoot or cross. I can be dangerous here, therefore this is more my game.
