When he was 37 years old, Bolt played in this year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF game at London’s Stamford Bridge Stadium.

In a sad turn of events, Usain Bolt had to be carried off the field of a charity soccer game on a bed because his Achilles gave out.

TMZ says Bolt, 37, hurt himself while playing defense for the Soccer Aid World XI team at this year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF match at Stamford Bridge Stadium in London.

Bolt’s injuɾy didn’t look bad at first when he went down on the field, but it became clear when he was taken off on a bed. In a later social media post, the eight-time Olympic gold winner said he had torn his Achilles.

The 43rd-ranked team moved on to the next round, while the Brazilian women’s team was sent home. “An achievement beyond belief,” as Fox Sports host Jacqui Oatley put it, was what the Jamaican women’s team did.

The next game, a 0-1 loss to Colombia, was the sad end of their run.
