Liverpool’s greatest and worst players from their exciting victory over Brighton in the Carabao Cup

Liverpool defeated Brighton & Hove Albion in a thrilling Carabao Cup fourth-round match on the south coast this week, earning what they hope will be the first of two victories.

Although it hasn’t been easy going thus far, the Netherlands international proved his abilities with a spectacular brace that finally swung the match in his team’s favor. Luis Diaz has held down Liverpool’s left-wing position in previous seasons, and Gakpo frequently finds it difficult to establish himself in a central role. He is now among the goals, though, and will be fighting for his starting spot this weekend.
