Suns recruit Eric Gordon catches body with filthy poster slam that will have Kevin Durant hoping for more
It’s possible that Eric Gordon can still run a marathon. The 34-year-old, who signed with the Suns in July, was playing for the Bahamas national team against Argentina in a 2024 Olympic qualifier when he made a play that has Suns fans excited for the next season.
Gordon switched onto Gonzalo Bressan, the other team’s big man, and drove hard to his right as time expired in the second quarter with the score knotted at 53. He took off and posterized Patricio Garino with an explosiveness that belied his age and his production over the past several seasons, giving his team the lead.Gordon’s athleticism has always been a strength, but he hasn’t been able to have the same impact in the NBA he used to due to age and ιnjury. Although his 69 games played in 2022–23 were tied for the most since 2016–17, his season was cut short when he was traded from the Houston Rockets to the Los Angeles Clippers.
He’ll be joining one of the league’s most talented squads this season, the Phoenix Suns. The Suns won’t exactly need Eric Gordon to carry the load with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal at the helm, plus fellow Bahamian Deandre Ayton on the roster. However, he could prove to be a fantastic pickup for the Suns in their pursuit of an inaugural championship if he can produce a few more highlights like the ones mentioned above and knоck dоwn threes at the rate at which he is so capable.
