What a time… James Harden’ China Tour 23’
James Harden’s ultimate Sixers ‘goal’ after Daryl Morey callout
On Monday morning, 10-time All-Star James Harden let the Philadelphia 76ers and president of basketball operations Daryl Morey know exactly how he felt about the team.
Harden said of Morey, “Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization he’s a part of,” at a conference in China. Let me repeat that. I will never join an organization that includes the likes of Daryl Morey because he is a liar.
Harden made these statements a few days after news broke that the team would not be accommodating his trade request this winter.
Time is ticking for the Sixers and Harden, as this issue might last until the start of training camp. It’s evident from the star guard’s recent comments that he wants nothing more to do with Philadelphia, but the 76ers won’t move him until they get a huge return, which they won’t get at this point in the offseason.
All parties involved are now in an uncomfortable position, and Harden appears to be actively working to increase the tension between the 76ers and Morey. Harden is reportedly willing to make things as difficult as possible for the Sixers in order to facilitate a trade, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Despite rumors to the contrary, Wojnarowski stated on ESPN’s NBA Today that the Sixers have “really not had any real interest” in trading James Harden. They won’t get anything for him that will help them remain a contender.
This has been building steam for over a year behind the scenes. The public can now witness the drаmа unfold. James Harden’s plan is to make the Sixers so uneasy with him returning to training camp that they will either trade for him or release him.
