When the Golden State Warriors decided to deal Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards earlier this summer, both fans and experts were taken aback.
The 24-year-old was signed by the Warriors to a four-year deal extension worth more than $123 million just one year prior to the departure.Prior to the 2022–2023 NBA season, his status as Stephen Curry’s successor as a player was completely altered.
Jordan Poole and Chris Paul have changed, according to Stephen Curry. Poole and Draymond Green got into a fιght at that point, leading to the veteran guard the inexperienced guard.
Green and head coach Steve Kerr said that the incident had an impact on the club and contributed to their early exit from the 2023 NBA Playoffs after they had been defeated by the Los Angeles Lakers.
The team’s lack of trust was apparent, and Poole had a difficult time standing out.
He only made 34.1 percent of his field goals and 25.4 percent of his three-point attempts.
A short time later, he was dealt to the Wizards.
Poole’s grievance against the Warriors
According to NBA insider Jason Dumas, “the was kind of like the cherry on top, but there was some festering way before that during the season that had nothing to do with the .”
He merely wished for more playing time. He desired a job and wanted to begin.Whether you agree with him or not, he wanted to be treated equally with Steph, Klay, and Dray and he observed that this wasn’t the case. He didn’t think much of it.
With his final Warriors season behind him, Poole will now get a fresh start in Washington.
