Atlanta Braves become the fifth MLB team to reach the historic 11,000-win milestone

In the lengthy history of Major League Baseball, the Atlanta Braves added another chapter to history by becoming the fifth team to win 11,000 games.

The Atlanta Braves keep breaking records. Currently having the best record in MLB this year, the 2021 World Series champions are on a tear. They have smashed multiple records as they continue to advance toward another postseason participation. They achieved another club milestone on Friday after defeating the San Francisco Giants 4-0.

Their 11,000th victory in Major League Baseball history came against the Giants. This goes back to the time when they were a part of the National League’s establishment in 1876. The Braves are now the seventh MLB team to reach this significant milestone in its 147-year history.

Spencer Strider put on yet another dominant performance on the mound to propel this victory. The pitcher’s 10 strikeouts in seven innings increased his chances of winning the NL Cy Young Award. Michael Harris II, another standout performer, had four singles.

Another record was also broken by the triumph. This was their first victory in the previous eight years and third straight shutout. The Braves get scarier and riskier for opponents as the season goes on.

Which are the others team to reach the 11,000-win mark?

The Atlanta Braves are the fifth team to attain this historic milestone, as was already mentioned. Four teams have already surpassed them in the standings. In addition to this, four other teams have achieved the milestone of 10,000 victories. Now the question is, which teams are those?

The San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Cardinals are the other four teams in addition to the Atlanta Braves. With 11,445 victories to their name, the Giants have the most of them all. The New York Yankees, the most successful MLB team, are surprisingly absent from this list. They are one of the four clubs with more than 10,000 victories, though. The list is completed by the Reds, Pirates, and Phillies.

The Braves are now hoping that their fantastic run of success will help them win the big prize. If they do not win the World Series, a season in which they have dominated all of their rivals and broken numerous records will be for naught.

They will play the NY Mets once more after the series with the Giants. They outscored them 40-10 in their most recent match, winning three games and dropping one by a 7-6 score. To defeat this unstoppable Braves squad, some exceptional play will be required.
