Discover Warriors’ Klay Thompson drops $2.2m on new Dana Point digs

Klay Thompson, one half of the Warriors’ sweet-shooting “Splash Brothers,” now has a splashy new place to call home to go along with his newfound championship status.

The Warriors’ shooting guard, who has been instrumental in the team’s run to the NBA Finals, also found time this year to make a different kind of play: he purchased a $2.2 million ocean-view home in Dana Point.

The Spanish-style ranch house sits on about a quarter of an acre in the Capo Beach region, and it features a 100-foot-wide patio with unobstructed ocean views, a pool, and a spa.

The single-story home has a family room/dining room with a fireplace, as well as an entertainment wing with a wet bar, a pool table, and a lounge space, and vaulted ceilings with exposed beams throughout. There are three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms in the over 2,400 square foot space, including a master suite with an ocean view and his and hers bathrooms.

Two-car garages stand on either side of the house’s front door.

According to public documents, a contract was signed on the property within 10 days of going on the market in December at the listed sum.

The Multiple listed Service indicates that Michael Boyd of Coldwell Banker acted as the listed agent. Thompson was represented in the February transaction by Century 21 OMA’s Casey Wootan.

The son of former Los Angeles Lakers forward-center Mychal Thompson, Thompson scored 21.7 points per game while shooting 43.9% from outside the arc in the regular season, making him an all-star for the fourth time in his NBA career. The 25-year-old player re-upped with the Warriors for four more seasons in November for a reported $70 million.
