Former LSU player Shaquille O’Neal lauds the Buffaloes’ upset victory over the Buffs

Shaquille O’Neal swallowed his pride on Monday when his alma mater, LSU, was upset by Colorado.

O’Neal approached Colorado center Aaronette Vonleh first after her outstanding performance (24 points, 6 rebounds). What exactly O’Neal said to Vonleh is unclear from the footage, but the two sportsmen appeared to be exchanging pleasantries, with the Colorado star beaming throughout their conversation.

O’Neal greeted Colorado’s locker room after the game by saying, “Good game, girls,” to head coach JR Payne and his players.

 

Payne greeted the former NBA great with, “Welcome, we’ve been huge fans for a really long time,” adding that the team “appreciates” him for taking the time to meet the players.

WNBA champiоn Candace Parker was a cоlоr cоmmentatоr fоr Mоnday’s shоck, and she and о’Neal cоngratulated the Buffalоes in the lоcker rооm after the game. Parker is a tоp player fоr the Las Vegas Aces.

Parker, now 37, said to Coach Payne, “I hope to see you at the final four, okay?” after Colorado’s “amazing” victory.

Payne said, “We’ll hope to see you there too,” expressing her team’s desire to meet and exceed expectations this year.
