Romano claims a £6 million target is about to join Manchester United.

Altay Bayindir, the goalkeeper for Fenerbahce, has arrived in the United Kingdom to join Manchester United.

After signing Andre Onana from Inter earlier this summer, United has been forced to look for another goalkeeper.

Dean Henderson is on his way to Crystal Palace after being granted permission to transfer to Selhurst Park.

Henderson has started each of United’s first three Premier League games this season, including Saturday’s victory over Nottingham Forest.

With a move to Palace on the horizon, Henderson’s inclusion in a United matchday squad should be his final.

United will need to bring in a replacement for Onana, and it appears that Bayindir will be that player.

Altay Bayindir is in the United Kingdom to finalize his transfer to Manchester United.

Altay Bayindir, goalkeeper for Fenerbahce, has emerged as United’s top target in recent days.

Fabrizio Romano now claims that Bayindir is ‘already in England’ and on his way to Old Trafford.

According to reports, United have agreed on a €7 million (£6 million) deal, and Bayindir is on the verge of becoming a United player.

Bayindir’s departure had been planned for several days, and he said farewell to the Fenerbahce fans after the 5-1 Europa Conference League playoff win over Twente on Thursday night.

Fenerbahce have already secured a replacement for Bayindir in the form of Croatian international goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, who has joined from Dinamo Zagreb.

Bayindir move makes sense for Manchester United

The rumours surrounding Bayindir really began to heat up in July, when the Daily Mail reported that United had held talks about a deal.

Henderson’s departure was always a possibility, and United appeared to have identified Bayindir as a key target to replace him.

The 6ft 6in stopper is available for a low fee, which may allow United to reinvest funds elsewhere, such as for Sofyan Amrabat.

Bayindir is only 25 years old and has plenty of room to grow, but he has nearly 150 Fenerbahce appearances under his belt.

Bayindir appears to be a strong contender for Onana’s replacement as a cheap, tall, experienced player with room to grow.

Taking over for Onana appears unlikely, but Bayindir, described as a “special player” by Fenerbahce president Ali Koc, will push him all the way.
