Siya Kolisi’s Heartwarming Family Photo Sparks Controversy Over Home Size, Fans Rally to Defend the Meaning of ‘Home’

After posting a lovely family photo to social media, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi got fans buzzing about his family’s Paris house.

Siya shared a selfie on Instagram of himself, his spouse Rachel, and his kids, Keziah, 6, and Nicholas, 9, curled up on the couch after spending a laid-back Sunday.

He wrote Sunday ❤️ as the photo’s caption.

A few of the comments complimented the lovely family and mentioned how lovely the image was of them. Not all of the remarks, though, were complimentary; one person claimed that the home was unfit for the Springbok captain and his family.

Many of Siya’s supporters were eager to defend him and their family’s home, claiming that the family was clearly happy in their modest home and that it didn’t matter how big the house was.

“This is a house 🏠 or hotel/condo, you deserve a better house for a captain, no disrespect to the captain,” said @izaya673.

In response, @jolevdwesthuizen_jo stated: “Home is where the heart is.” This image in this house or apartment is your home, even if you live in a magnificently large home with nothing inside. Size doesn’t matter when you have a wife and kids. It’s where I live. In any event, homes and flats in Europe differ greatly from those in SA. Not able to compare sizes and styles, said @jolenevdwesthuizen_jo.

“@izaya673,” @charlenestoffels continued. I don’t agree with you… Consider beyond the tangible. This family is modest.

@izaya673 y’all are so forward! @nunencane said In what universe did you believe it was appropriate to pose that query?
