With the recent acquisition of a large, $10.75 million beachfront villa in Fort Lauderdale, soccer player Lionel Messi has made it obvious he’s not going away, the real estate brokers who sold him the property said on Monday.

With Argentine social media personality and model Antonela Roccuzzo, Messi has been blessed with three sons. He currently owns a 10,500-square-foot mansion featuring eight bedrooms, 9.5 bathrooms, a three-car garage, and a swimming pool.
The home is in a cul-de-sac and has 170 feet of waterfront in the Bay Colony neighborhood, where author and social media influencer Patrick Bet-David reportedly set a record in 2021 by purchasing a $20.4 million mansion. Messi was represented by Samuel and Donna Simpkin at Compass Florida in the purchase of the property.
Situated on less than half an acre, the ultra-modern home boasts a primary bedroom of 1,600 square feet, a spa, and a fitness center.
The projected annual property taxes for the mansion are $83,400.
Prior to the end of the year, Messi inked an extraordinary 2.5-year contract with Inter Miami, which included a signing bonus, team equity, pay, and revenue-sharing deals with Apple and Adidas. The deal was reportedly “worth up to $150 million total”. Ranking second on Forbes’ list of the highest-paid athletes this year, he earned an estimated $130 million between May 2022 and May 2023. His remarkable real estate holdings include the new mansion, which he recently acquired for a reported $7.3 million, as well as the full ninth floor of the opulent Regalia condominium complex in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. According to Architectural Digest, he reportedly owned—and possibly still does—a $7 million villa close to Barcelona, a $5 million condo in Miami, and a large property in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina, complete with a theater, gym, and 15-car garage.
Not all celebrities have recently established residence in South Florida, including Messi. According to the Wall Street Journal, supermodel and ex-wife of Tom Brady Gisele Bündchen paid slightly over $9 million for a house in Southwest Ranches, Florida. A full-sized soccer field, two equestrian rings, a stock pond for fishing, and a 5,200-square-foot mansion are all on her 7.5-acre property. The WSJ was informed by Chad Bishop of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty that the model will include hens, horses, and other farm animals. Messi’s new neighborhood is approximately 25 miles away from Southwest Ranches.
