West Ham United and AS Roma have both shown strong interest in Scott McTominay

It has been reported that AS Roma have made an increased push “in recent hours” to capture Scott McTominay from Manchester United.

The Scotsman has fallen down in the pecking order at United since Erik ten Hag took over as manager last summer and is now a fringe player.

Despite being a United fanatic and academy graduate, the footballer has reportedly said that he might consider leaving the club for the appropriate price.

The Peoples Person has reported that the 26-year-old is a transfer target for both West Ham United and AS Roma.

Both teams are controlled by ex-United managers: David Moyes and José Mourinho at Roma (where McTominay made his professional debut).

For their part, United have said that they are not keen to sell the Scottish international and that it would take a sizeable bid to change their mind. There has been talk of spending £45 million.

Although previously unknown, Caughtoffside now claims that “sources have revealed that Scott McTominay is… on [West Ham’s] shortlist.”

However, Roma could mount a move for the Scot shortly due to their considerable interest expressed in recent hours on Sunday, August 6th, the publication claims.

After receiving an offer for Nemanja Matic from Rennes, Jose Mourinho’s team is considering making a move for McTominay as a potential replacement.

McTоminay might be enticed by the prоspect оf reuniting with Mоurinhо and playing in anоther tоp cоuntry, as well as by the idea оf being a pоtentially large fish in a small pоnd at the Lоndоn Stadium.

It’s unclear if that’s something United would be interested in.

There have been rumors that Newcastle United and Everton are also interested in the Scottish player.
