Idris Elba lavished a great deal of money on a resort villa to provide his family with the most opulent lifestyle in Hollywood

During this holiday season, Hollywood celebrities traveled to far-off locales for extravagant vacations.

Ansel Elgort rented a villa in the Dominican Republic, the Kardashian family lived in luxury at an Aspen lodge, and John Legend and Chrissy Teigen divulged details about their excursions to Turks & Caicos and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Idris Elba’s trip to the Maldives, though, may have been the most spectacular holiday.

In the Maldives, the Hobbs & Shaw actor sought sanctuary at One & Only Reethi Rah, where he resided in an overwater villa with his spouse Sabrina.

Elba’s villa can only be accessed by high-stilted wooden walkways and is situated on one of the largest private islands in North Malé Atoll.

Surrounded by the breathtakingly blue waves of the Indian Ocean, this one-bedroom refuge is perched above the water. Its spacious design includes a dining and living area, a spa-like bathtub, and more. The design of the home seamlessly blends Balinese and local motifs.

The exterior of the property is breathtaking, while the inside exudes an elegant tranquility. Elba relished the use of a private infinity pool with catamaran nets, which are perfect for unwinding and organically merging with the breathtaking environment.

A separate terrace with a daybed facing the ocean, an outside dining space ideal for candlelit dinners, and an outdoor shower further exemplify the concept of indoor-outdoor living. The direct lagoon access was definitely the icing on the cake for the Cats star.

The English actor relaxed at the stylish Rah Bar, had a romantic private supper at Tapasake restaurant, rode a bicycle around the resort, and lounged on the fine sand beaches.

Elba even participated in the One & Only Festive Football Tournament because she is an avid soccer player. His unexpected DJ performance on New Year’s Eve stunned the other guests and added an unforgettable element to an already great trip.
